Who Knows You The Wonders of Adoption

The Wonders of Adoption

An unborn child soon to be forgotten.
Nothing left but a few memories.
A new family not known.
New faces, alot to meet.
As time passes wondering starts.
Why do I feel different or look different.
Questions get asked but are never answered.
You start to feel differently.
Just wondering why a person could do this.
Questions that can't be explained
Until the wonders of adoption is over......
I have Found!

- Ashlee Gralewski

Who Knows You

Always remember it’s not who you know
But who knows you

They could be a friend
A father or a mother too
So when you travel through life
No matter what you do
It is important
No matter what you do
Whether you are someone who cares
Or doesn’t have a clue
You never know how someone will react
To your personality, name or face
How people see you
Their thoughts you can’t erase
Though they’ve only seen your  face
They can still know who you are
Whether you are near
Or very, very far
So always be the best you can
Whether a child, a woman, or a man
Because you never know
Who knows you

A Reason, A Season, A Lifetime

People come into your life for a reason, a season, or a lifetime.  When you figure out which it is, you know exactly what to do.

When someone is in your life for a REASON, it is usually to meet a need you have expressed outwardly or inwardly. They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support, to aid you physically, emotionally, or spiritually. They may seem like a Godsend, and they are.  They are there for the reason you need them to be. Then, without any wrongdoing on your part or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end. Sometimes they die.  Sometimes they walk away. Sometimes they act up or out and force you to take a stand.  What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled; their work is done. The prayer you sent up has been answered and it is now time to move on.

When people come into your life for a SEASON, it is because your turn has come to share, grow, or learn. They may bring you an experience of peace or make you laugh. They may teach you something you have never done.  They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy.  Believe it!  It is real!  But, only for a season.

LIFETIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons; those things you must build upon in order to have a solid emotional foundation.  Your job is to accept the lesson, love the person/people (anyway); and put what you have learned to use in all other relationships and areas of your life.  It is said that love is blind but friendship is clairvoyant.

Thank you for being a part of my life......

The Cross

A young man was at the end of his rope.  Seeing no way out, he dropped to his knees in prayer.  "Lord, I can't go on," he said.  "I have too heavy of a cross to bear."

The Lord replied, "My son, if you can't bear its weight, just place your cross inside this room.  Then open that other door and pick out any cross you wish."

The man was filled with relief and said, "Thank you, Lord,"  and he did as he was told.  Upon entering the other door, he saw many crosses, some so large the tops were not visible.  Then, he spotted a tiny cross leaning against a far wall. "l'd like that one, Lord,"  he whispered.  And the Lord replied, "My son, that is the cross you just brought in."

When life's problems seem overwhelming, it helps to look around and see what other people are coping with.  You may consider yourself far more fortunate than you imagined.

Don't Quit!

When things go wrong
as they sometimes will,

when the road you're
trudging seems all uphill

when the funds are low,
and the debts are high,

and you want to smile,
but you have to sigh,

when care is pressing
you down a bit...

rest if you must,
BUT DON'T YOU QUIT.

Success is failure
turned inside out,

the silver tint of
the clouds of doubt,

and you never can tell
how close you are,

it may be near when
it seems afar.

So, stick to the fight
when you're hardest hit...

It's when things go wrong
THAT YOU MUSTN'T QUIT.

Holiday Hustle and Bustle

'Twas the week before Christmas and all through the town
Everyone is so busy; I can't let anyone down.
Friends are only as far away as a phone,
Please remember you are never alone.

Until December 25th when the gifts are all in
Everyone must strive not to wear themselves thin.
When this happens, problems arise
You really don't want to be one of those guys.

You know, the ones that make you shiver and shake.
The way that they drive, they just can't be late.
Get to that sale! Get to that store!
Now dash for some cash, I still need some more!

Take your time wherever you go,
You'll get there safely in rain, ice or snow.
Have a Merry Christmas,
Holidays filled with cheer,
Stay safe and take care,
Hope to see you all next year!

Connected Words to Ponder

Open...closed.
Accessible...inaccessible.
Truth...estimates.
Knowledge..an educated guess.
Fact...fiction.
Now...then.
Heritage and descent...unknown ancestry.
A chosen child...a mistake.
Similarity obvious upon sight...hidden identity.
Forsaken...for whom?
For what?

Though I had a good childhood,
Exceptional parents,
Who were able...to do...the one thing
That had seemed so impossible...
To love and care for me as I grew.

Fit in as if...no one would ever guess.
Yet I could not forget--
The space held in my heart
Full of unconditional love,
Reserved...from birth?
For whom?

I have the parents who raised me---
Truly they are in every sense of the words
Mom and Dad.
The love there,
Also unconditional
May often go unspoken or unexpressed,
But it is realized
As known and permanent.
Bound by law...
Sealed with love and affection.
Irreversible bonds,
Indescribable love and respect...
Normal...as it "should be."

So what to search for,
If not for myself...
Does not the non-adoptee do this as well?
Famiy trees, taken for granted...
How could I know?
Sealed with signatures.

An uneducated crime
Beknownst only to me
Forever sealed from my start!
Unwrap me...reveal.
Indescribable emotions...
Think too much?

Me the statistic...
The adopted child...
Never an adult? Stuck in time...
How can a person...grow...
Develop...beyond a certain milestone, per se,
When pertinent information
Is purposefully withheld?

Two sides...
One raised,
The other inherited.
Connections...
Hard running interference between the two,
Never destined
To become one?

I Am Real

I am real.
I wasn't till today
When a stranger called
And
With one short phrase
Shattered my imaginary world
By destroying
The Legend.

I am real.
I was born, like every other babe,
Not ripped from a lifeless womb
And placed upon a spotless shelf
To be admired and loved
But forever ignorant about
The place from whence I came.

I am real.
I am not a "Gift from God"
"A Miracle"
I am real.
